About a month or so ago, Aiden's dad & I decided that we were going to switch Aiden to cloth diapers. We were tired of buying disposable diapers! Now, we still use disposable currently, as well as the cloth diapers, but eventually we're hoping to be 100% cloth. I wished I'd started cloth from the beginning, to be honest. Better late than never!
After receiving recommendations from several people, I chose to try out the cloth diapers from http://www.nubunz.com/. At such a great price ($8) and factory seconds available for $5.50, I wouldn't be at such a loss if they weren't quite what I was looking for.
Upon arrival, I prepped the cloth diapers [after researching the internet extensively on how to get started on cloth diapering!] and got set to get things started with Aiden's first cloth diapering adventure. I love the microfiber inserts, and at naptime/bedtime I actually place a microfiber towel [purchased at Menards as a package of 8 for 99cents after rebate] folded up in between the two inserts that came with the diaper. They are definantly absorbant enough that way through the night, and through naptime. The extra towel will add a little more bulk, making it seem very bulky on him, but he doesn't seem to mind one bit! I also use flushable liners which makes cleaning up a breeze if needed!
I am VERY impressed with the Nubunz diapers. It has already saved us money on buying disposable diapers. I love how the snaps adjust to the size I need them, and will adjust with him as he grows [eliminating having to buy another size for my growing boy!]. And I DREAD laundry, with a passion, it's my least favorite household chore, so I was really worried about adding MORE laundry to my life with the start of cloth diapering, but it's really not as bad as I thought it would of been. I was very afraid of trying cloth diapers, the task seemed so daunting, and so much extra work added to my already busy life, not to mention you always hear people say "Oh my goodness, it's so much work, it's so messy" etc, etc. Yes, it is a bit of extra work, but it saves money. Saving money is better I think.
I definantly would recommend Nubunz diapers for any new mom, or mom to be
